The ICSLS bi-annual conference series started in Paris, France in 1973, and it is held alternating European and North-American conference venues. The last three European venues were Paris, France (2004), Valladolid, Spain (2008), and St. Petersburg, Russia (2012). The last three North American venues were Auburn, Alabama USA (2006), St. John’s, Canada (2010) and Tullahoma, Tennessee, USA (2014).The 23rd ICSLS conference is organized by Institute of Physics Nicolaus Copernicus University in cooperation with Aleksander Jabłoński Foundation. Nicolaus Copernicus University was previously an organizer of the 9th edition of ICSLS in 1988 chaired by Jozef Szudy.

The conference covers a broad range of topics related to spectral line shape studies, including: line shapes of atomic and molecular transitions in neutral gaseous mixtures, high and low temperature plasmas, clusters and helium droplets, spectroscopy of stellar atmospheres and interstellar media, spectroscopy of planetary atmospheres and exoplanets, cold atoms and molecules, collision-induced spectra, processes in laser fields, innovative techniques of line shape applications for diagnostic purposes and fundamental studies with narrow optical resonances. The conference includes invited lectures, contributed talks, poster presentations, and round table discussions.

All scientific part will be held at modern building – Culture and Congress Centre Jordanki, nearby Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
